Nicr wire

There is special wire known as Nichrome which heats up quickly. It is composed of a combination of nickel and chromium, metals that tolerate high temperatures very effectively. This makes nichrome an extremely useful Inconel wire for many different applications.

One of the strengths of nichrome wire for heaters is that it can become red hot without melting. That’s important when you want to heat something up quickly or keep it at a consistent temperature for a long while. It's also incredibly strong, meaning it doesn't weaken or fall apart over time.

Understanding the Properties of Nichrome Wire for Resistance Heating

Nichrome wire is referred to as a "resistance heating" wire because it resists the flow of current. This resistance is what gets the wire hot. You control how hot the wire gets by controlling the amount of electricity that flows through it. That’s what makes Hastelloy wire ideal for, say, toaster ovens, hairdryers, and any other instrument that needs to get hot.
